Since 1990, Advanced Designs has maintained a solid reputation for high quality and quick turnaround with well-known industry giants such as Agilent Technologies, Logitech, Anritsu and others. Some of our designs have laid the foundation for Department of Defense contracts, and other military applications. We have done circuit designs and printed circuit board layout for NASA. You could say our work is literally “out of this world”. Advanced Designs has a team of experts to handle your projects.
Jason Dunlap, President, started his career in Silicon Valley in 1967 with a military background in electronics. Jason was a manufacturing engineer and project manager for a large medical instrument company, in Palo Alto. He was the Engineering Services Manager for several product development companies that designed and prototyped new ideas and inventions into commercial and consumer products. In 1989, Jason was the Lead PCB designer, and Design Services Manager for a Mountain View, product development company. There he obtained training and know-how in every aspect of PCB layout, manufacture and assembly. In early 1990, he launched Advanced PCB Designs, which later evolved into what is now Advanced Designs, Inc., the premier PCB Design and Layout services company of Northern California.
All of our designers have more than 15 years doing PCB layout. Each is an expert level designer, understands schematic flow, and has done some of the most complex layouts imaginable. When it comes to doing layout, Advanced Designs has intelligent and creative processes and philosophy to get it done in a timely and cost effective manner. We have done just about every imaginable kind of circuitry from simple test fixtures and power supplies, to huge, multilayer, mixed signal layouts where an understanding of layout considerations for RF and high-speed digital circuitry is necessary. We’ve done DDR3, matched length layouts, high-density designs requiring via-in-pad, blind and buried vias, controlled impedances, differential pairs. Most of our designs have required setting up complex and conditional rule sets, and the strategic use of advanced auto-routing tools in an interactive process. We want to be fast and effective. All jobs are supervised and overseen by the most qualified people. We don’t often nit pick, but we always give you manufacturable quality.
Tom Minnis, Electronics Engineer, a graduate from Cal Poly, is a veteran electronic design engineer with more than 30 years of experience. If you have a current electronic design that needs updating and improvement, or a new idea for an electronic product or complicated system, Tom Minnis is the engineer you want to head up your project. Not only does he have vast experience in circuit design and systems design, he has an uncanny genius when it comes to coming up with the best way to design it, and which components and strategy to use to make it practical. Tom was a chief project engineer for Agilent Technologies, designing RF and mixed signal boards for military applications. He has designed medical instrumentation, Ham Radio accessories and enhancements, digital networking systems, and consumer products. Tom has a diversity of design experience and know-how that few engineers have because of the several high-technology companies that he has worked for in Silicon Valley.
